Job description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Quality Manager (QM SQEP) to lead and oversee mechanical installation works at a metal refinery plant in Royston. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on the installation of:

  • Chilled pipework
  • PVDF plastic pipework
  • LTHW pipework

You will be responsible for managing the mechanical scope of works, ensuring quality compliance, and producing key documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Plans (QPs), and Weld Procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage mechanical installation activities on-site.
  • Develop and maintain ITPs, QPs, and weld procedures in line with project and industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental protocols.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure quality assurance.
  • Report progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in industrial or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Strong background in mechanical project management and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with chilled water systems, PVDF piping, and LTHW systems.
  • Ability to produce and manage ITPs, QPs, and weld documentation.
  • SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person) status or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
