Overview

MCG Construction are working on an exciting opportunity which has arisen for an experienced and driven Mechanical Project Manager to join a leading M&E contractor delivering high-quality mechanical projects within the commercial and retail sectors. This role offers the chance to take full ownership of projects from conception through to completion, ensuring exceptional quality, timely delivery, and budget control.

You will play a key role in delivering fast-paced, often live-environment schemes, where attention to detail, stakeholder coordination, and effective leadership are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of mechanical projects of varying scale and complexity within agreed timescales, budgets, and specifications.
  • Oversee daily on-site operations to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and programme requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys and attend design meetings, providing technical input to ensure project feasibility and buildability.
  • Monitor project KPIs and financial performance, producing accurate Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Maintain strict Health & Safety compliance in line with legislation, policies, and site-specific procedures.
  • Drive a culture of “right first time” delivery, aiming for defect-free handovers.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Skills & Experience

  • SMSTS certification and valid CSCS card.
  • Proven track record in delivering mechanical projects within commercial, retail, or related sectors.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Building Services, HVAC Engineering, or similar discipline.
