Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Manchester team on a prestigious defence project. You will lead multi‑discipline mechanical installation activities, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery across the site.

The role requires on-site leadership, collaboration with subcontractors, and active involvement in planning and progress reviews. We expect a qualified Mechanical Engineer with HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering Services, Black CSCS Skill Card, and

Qualifications

• Qualified Mechanical Engineer required for a defence project on a Manchester site.
• HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering Services with Black CSCS Skill Card and IOSH Managing Safety.
• Experience in technically challenging, multi‑disciplined environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical and commercial support for mechanical installation projects.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient site operations.
• Review and interpret mechanical design information and adapt solutions as needed.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
• Provide clear technical leadership to site teams and foremen.
• Deliver project activities on time and within budget.
• Support procurement processes and ensure technical compliance.
• Maintain project reporting systems and monitor performance against targets.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage subcontractor performance and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Represent Dalkia Engineering professionally in client interactions.
• Contribute to project meetings and progress reviews.
• Champion QSHE standards across project activities.
• Identify and resolve defects, supporting commissioning.
• Mentor and support development of trainees and junior team members.

We're on the hunt for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Manchester team working on our high‑profile defence project. At Dalkia Engineering, we pride ourselves on designing, delivering, and commissioning electrical and mechanical installation systems in a variety of industry-leading buildings.

What you’ll be doing;

To support this brand new project, we are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer with experience in technically challenging, multi‑disciplined engineering environments. This is a key role within our North region working a prestigious project.

Key Responsibilities;

Who we’re looking for;

Are you a qualified Mechanical Engineer who is looking to work on a prestigious, defence project? You’ll need an HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering Services along with Black CSCS Skill Card and IOSH Managing Safety.

In addition, you will need to be able to;
