Job description

Marble Talent Group are seeking a Mechanical Plumber on a permanent basis for our client based in Fareham. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical plumbing systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. This includes HVAC-related pipework, hot and cold water services, sanitary plumbing, gas lines (if applicable), mechanical plant connections, and associated fixtures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Installation & Construction
  • Install, test, and commission mechanical plumbing systems including:
  • Heating and cooling water pipework
  • Chilled water systems
  • Hydronic heating systems
  • Domestic water services
  • Sanitary and drainage systems
  • Gas pipework (if licensed)
  • Mechanical plant (boilers, pumps, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, etc.)
  • Assemble, weld, solder, thread, or mechanically join piping materials such as copper, steel, PVC, HDPE, and PEX.
  • Install valves, pumps, pressure vessels, pipe supports, insulation, and related components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Maintenance & Repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical plumbing systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance including checking pressures, flow rates, system integrity, and equipment performance.
  • Diagnose faults and complete corrective actions to restore system functionality.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.
  • Maintain safe work practices and adhere to WHS/OHS procedures.
  • Complete documentation, service reports, and compliance certificates where required.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Coordinate with site managers, contractors, engineers, and other trades.
  • Provide technical guidance to apprentices or junior team members.
  • Report progress, risks, and system issues to supervisors promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified Plumber with recognised trade certification.
  • Current plumbing license (as required by regional regulations).
  • Gas fitting certification (if applicable).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Construction/site safety certification (e.g., White Card).
  • Ability to read mechanical and hydraulic drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical services and plumbing codes.
  • Experience in commercial or industrial mechanical plumbing preferred.
