Job summary

A construction project management firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Manager/Engineer to oversee ductwork and mechanical/HVAC packages in a large-scale project in Central London. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills, with essential experience in the ductwork or HVAC sectors. This is a short-term contract position with an emphasis on health and safety compliance and quality checks.

Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as an in-date CSCS card and SMSTS/SSSTS are preferred.
  • Proven experience within the ductwork, HVAC, or building services sectors is essential.
  • Mechanical qualification.

1st Step Solutions are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Package Manager to oversee ductwork and mechanical/HVAC packages within a large‑scale commercial project.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining clear communication and strong professional relationships.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor all stages of ductwork projects, through to final handover.
  • Organise and manage labour resources, materials, and site demands for efficient project delivery.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations and industry standards, including preparing and reviewing Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks on installations, ensuring work aligns with project specifications and drawings.
  • Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support related to ductwork installation, fabrication, and HVAC systems.
Requirements
  • ONC/HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent professional experience is highly desirable.
