The ideal candidate will have proven mechanical maintenance experience and an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering. Qualifications

  • Willingness to work shifts or be on-call as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including pumps, valves, and gearboxes.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance in line with schedules.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed.

Pay rate: £21.98 per hour, Umbrella rates available on request.

Location: Sizewell, Leiston

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days on site.

Our client, a leader in Nuclear Generation requires a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at their site in Sizewell, Leiston to join their maintenance team. This hands‑on role involves the inspection, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems, with a strong focus on pumps, valves, and general mechanical equipment across our facility.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pump and valve systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
  • Good problem‑solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to work shifts or be on‑call as required.
