Job summary

Suntory Oceania is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join our Asset Care team at our state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility in Swanbank, Queensland. You will deliver planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and drive equipment performance across highly automated lines.

You will collaborate with Production, Quality and Operational Excellence teams to ensure world-class manufacturing performance while championing safety and continuous improvement across all

Qualifications

  • Trade qualification in a Mechanical discipline is required.
  • Experience with high-speed processing and packaging equipment is desirable.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance across the site.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and process-related equipment issues.
  • Analyse failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
  • Support maintenance planning, shutdowns and scheduling of work.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and productivity gains.
  • Lead RCA investigations and share learnings across teams.
  • Support and deploy Suntory’s operational excellence system, Monozukuri.
  • Coach team members on machine operation, fault-finding and setup.

The Opportunity

Working within our Asset Care team, you will play a critical role in delivering planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, driving equipment performance and improving reliability across our highly automated manufacturing & distribution operation.

You’ll work across advanced production lines, automated systems, utilities and site infrastructure while collaborating closely with Production, Quality and Operational Excellence teams to ensure world‑class manufacturing performance.

This is the perfect opportunity for a mechanically qualified professional who enjoys getting hands‑on, leading problem‑solving activities and influencing operational improvements that deliver real business outcomes.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Deliver planned, preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities across the manufacturing site.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and process‑related equipment issues.
  • Analyse equipment failures and identify effective corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
  • Support maintenance planning activities, shutdowns and corrective work scheduling.
  • Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency and equipment performance.
  • Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations.
  • Support and deploy Suntory’s global operational excellence system, Monozukuri.
  • Coach and support manufacturing team members in machine operation, fault finding, set‑up and centre‑lining activities.
