Overview

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer — Location: Oldbury, West Midlands. Salary: £37,000 per annum. Hours: Full-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week.

About the Role

Based on our Oldbury site, you'll play a key role in keeping our production machinery running efficiently across the shop floor. This is a hands-on, full-time role supporting the manufacturing process, performing both reactive and planned maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Hours of Work
  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm (with 30-minute lunch)
  • Friday: 7:30am - 12:30pm (no lunch)
What You'll Do
  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance on a variety of mechanical machinery.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations efficiently and safely.
  • Record, monitor, and report all engineering and production issues.
  • Sug gest improvements to prevent reoccurring faults.
  • Communicate progress with Production Managers and Team Leaders.
  • Complete repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure minimal downtime.
What We're Looking For
  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum City & Guilds Part 1 and 2 in mechanical engineering.
  • Skilled in fitting, welding, fabrication, and fault-finding in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with planned maintenance, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.
  • Well-organised, self-motivated, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solver who works well under pressure.
  • Good timekeeping and attendance.
  • Eligible to work in the UK (company cannot provide sponsorship).
