Questech Recruitment are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer/ Fitter to join the team at one of our well established clients based in Hull. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge with a company who values its team.

Hours: 4 on 4 off (2 days & 2 nights) with regular overtime available.

Salary: £42,789 (Inclusive Of Shift Premium)

Job Description
  • Work under the guidance of the Engineering Supervisor to perform and complete the assigned duties in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance data input/output
  • Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation
  • Identify and report unsafe operations to Line Supervisor immediately
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
Required skills
  • Experience within a maintenance environment, preferably in heavy industry / manufacturing sector
  • Experience working with H&S systems, lock out / tag out procedure
  • Able and willing to assist with non-core skill set tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and under own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to comprehend and safely operate mechanical equipment
  • Ability to adhere to safe working procedures ensuring safety of oneself and colleagues
  • Physically fit and active
  • Flexibility to work different shift patterns
Preferred skills
  • Knowledge of pipefitting, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and control systems.
  • Some installation experience is desirable
  • Operation of forklift trucks, (MEWP) mobile elevated work platform and similar equipment is desirable
