An engineering recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a successful engineering company in Leicester. The role involves reactive and preventative maintenance of CNC and specialist machinery. Candidates must have a HNC or equivalent and at least 3 years in an engineering environment, with essential fault-finding experience. The position offers a permanent contract with a competitive salary of £35k per annum, working 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance on CNC and specialist machinery.

  • Manage reactive breakdown repairs to minimize downtimes.
  • Carry out major refurbishments of machinery as needed.
  • Perform PLC fault finding and investigations.
  • Implement planned preventative maintenance.

Job description

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a successful engineering company based in Leicester.

This is a permanent position with the hiring company.

The Job:

You will be part of the Maintenance Team responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance of their machines

Hours are: Mon-Thurs 6am-2.30pm and Friday 6am-11.30am - 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £35k per annum

Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide mechanical maintenance to a wide range of CNC and specialist machinery
  • Mechanical repairs to gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drive chains, pumps and tanks
  • Manage and resolve reactive breakdown repairs, reducing machine downtimes to a minimum
  • As required carry out major refurbishment of plant, equipment and machinery
  • PLC fault finding and interrogation
  • Investigate reported faults, identify the cause and decide the necessary course of action to rectify the fault
  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Comply with legal requirements and to work within Company health and safety guidelines
The Person:
  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an Engineering environment which includes experience of fault-finding and repairing CNC multi-axis machines - ESSENTIAL
  • Conversant with Fanuc & Siemens controls
  • Conversant with present and emerging technology, up to date knowledge of equipment and techniques
