We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Lead to join our client's construction and engineering contractor firm, in a permanent position. This opportunity offers a hybrid working arrangement, whereby the successful candidate will operate from our client's main office in Salford. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of Water and Water Treatment projects, with a focus on the United Utilities Framework.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all site works, focusing on performance inspections and reviews, SAT / FAT assessments, equipment allocation and relocation, and mechanical systems surveys.
- Manage the production of mechanical system documentation, specifications, and requirements, across all stages of project development.
- Direct subcontractors and suppliers across all project stages, looking into framework management, selection, performance reviews, and timeline assurance.
- Nurture effective commissioning activities, focusing on commissioning strategy integration, work planning, equipment optimisation, training solutions, and more.
- Liaise with delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders allowing for strong effective communication, smooth project handover, and alignment with UU / C2V+ frameworks.
- Promote optimisation across operations and the business, looking into procurement requirements, solutions, design frameworks and products, ensuring efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, with a chartered engineer status is preferable.
- Extensive demonstratable experience as a Mechanical Lead, or a similar role, with a portfolio of previous works on Water and Water Treatment projects.
- Significant experience of conducting FAT / SAT assessments, site reviews, mechanical system commissioning, and decommissioning activities.
- Strong team and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to work effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, design leads, and commissioning teams.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a problem-solving mindset, and the drive to nurture business growth and development.
