The University of Sheffield is seeking a Mechanical Installation & Maintenance Technician (Plumber) to join the Estates & Facilities Management team on a full-time, on-site basis in Sheffield. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical services, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and university policies.

Salary ranges from £27,719 to £31,236 per annum with progression potential.

Qualifications

• Gas Safe registration on domestic & commercial premises.
• Full UK driving license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with prioritisation.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities.
• Prioritise jobs by urgency and decide methods.
• Liaise with contractors ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Respond to on-call/emergency requests as required.
