Job summary

A leading inspection services provider is urgently seeking Quality Inspectors in Derby to support aerospace programs. Candidates need over 2 years of aerospace experience and must be skilled in visual and dimensional inspections. Knowledge of engineering drawings and AS9100 standards is highly advantageous. This role operates inside IR35, requiring an umbrella company.

Qualifications

• More than 2 years of aerospace experience in the last 5 years.
• Experience in an engineering environment for a minimum of 3 years.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection as required on customer programs.
• Conduct dimensional inspections using hand measurement equipment.
• Review manufacturing documentation and prepare non-conformance reports.

Overview

Job Description: Urgently seeking Quality Inspectors to provide on-demand / as-required support on a customer programme in Derby. Support will typically be requested with one week’s notice and will run for periods of 2–3 weeks at a time. The desired candidates will have previous experience working in an Aerospace Inspection role, performing inspections to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications.

Supporting the final inspection process, support will include:

• Visual inspection
• Dimensional inspection, using hand measurement equipment
• Review completeness of manufacturing documentation (e.g. CofCs, routers, etc.)
• Document inspection, preparing non-conformance reports as necessary
• Update customer systems

Experience requirements:

• Demonstrate evidence of more than 2-years in the last 5-years of aerospace experience and poses experience of working within an engineering environment for a minimum of 3 years.
• Demonstrate knowledge of interpreting engineering drawings
• Demonstrate knowledge of geometric, dimensioning and tolerance
• Demonstrate evidence of product specific knowledge and experience in fabricated parts, which are welded and rivited
• Knowledge / experience of AS9100 and AS9102 standards highly advantageous
• Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
