We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a Company who specialise in the design and subcontract manufacturing of high precision components for the automotive and aerospace markets.
Education Requirements & Experience
- Advanced Apprenticeship or Higher Education Qualification in Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
- Experience as a Mechanical Inspector/Quality Inspector in CNC machining and precision manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Can use Hand Held measuring tools, Linear Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Surface Finish Testers etc.
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel).
- Quality control preferably AS9100.
- Some experience operating a CMM, preferably Mitutoyo.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication & time management skills.
Main Duties / Responsibilities
- Goods Inwards, In Process and 100% Final Inspection of Parts utilising various inspection tools/methods.
- Perform routine visual and dimensional inspection and check for surface defects, cleaning, chipping, etc.
- Produce inspection reports, compile and complete CofC's/ FAIRS and Customer quality assurance documentation.
- Complete NCR's when necessary and support 8D process.
- Ensure all processing has been carried out in accordance with route cards.
- Assist with maintaining the calibration system ensuring it's accurate & up to date at all times.
- Work with the section leaders and production teams to ensure all documentation is completed correct and accurately.
