Position: Mechanical Fitter

Location: Widnes

Salary: £42,000 – £44,000 per year + Performance-Based Pay Rises

Shifts: Monday to Friday – Double Days (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm)

The Role

As part of the engineering maintenance team, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining mechanical systems including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Fabricating and welding (MIG & Stick) components and parts for plant machinery
  • Setting up and aligning machinery, moulds, and tampers with precision
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the site, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • NVQ Level 2 + in Mechanical Engineering OR Welding
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and fitting
  • Must be competent in welding (MIG & Stick)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics is an advantage
  • Proactive, flexible, and a strong team player
