This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. The role would suit someone with a strong mechanical background, capable of assembling, fitting, and working with a variety of components, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The position is primarily workshop-based, with responsibility for producing assemblies to a high standard of quality and precision. You’ll be working from engineering drawings and instructions, supporting the build of complex assemblies, and ensuring products meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Support the build of fabricated assemblies from scratch, including marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, weld joint preparation, and hydraulic/pneumatic runs.
  • Work from manufacturing, general arrangement, and sub-assembly drawings.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble small and large fabricated components.
  • Check completed assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and quality.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety policies and safe working practices.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team to deliver on production requirements.
  • Carry out any additional reasonable duties as required.

Salary

£25,000 – £30,000 per year, plus plenty of overtime and bonus (depending on skills and experience)
