Express Recruitment are delighted to be representing a well‑established Engineering Solutions Specialist who are looking to appoint a Mechanical Fitter on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Our client delivers bespoke mechanical and electrical engineering services across multiple sectors, including water, utilities, and infrastructure. They pride themselves on fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment, making this opportunity ideal for an experienced Fitter seeking a stable, long‑term position with excellent earning potential.

Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday (please note this is not a door‑to‑door role – candidates must be on‑site for a 7 am start).

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £21 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to £50,000 per annum including overtime and away allowances. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Carry out general mechanical duties across a variety of sites
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and steel supports
  • Conduct fault finding and remedial work on mechanical systems
  • Assist electricians or civil engineers when required
  • Work away from home on occasion (typically Monday–Friday) when projects require
  • Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies and site procedures
  • Read and adhere to all RAMS and Safe Systems of Work
  • Operate company vehicle responsibly and maintain professional standards at all times
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients
Skills and Experience
  • Time‑served Mechanical Apprenticeship or Level 3 Mechanical Qualification
  • Experience in a similar role within engineering
  • Current Confined Space training certification
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
  • Sound understanding of mechanical installation and maintenance practices
