Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Site Engineer

Location: South East

£37,000 plus overtime, standby, shared van, annual company bonus, private healthcare, private pension, specialist tools, pension and 30 days holiday inclusive of statutory days.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter/Mechanical Site Engineer to join a dynamic and fast‑paced external site team. We’re looking for a motivated, hands‑on individual to work alongside an Electrical Site Engineer, carrying out installations, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of pumps and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend nationwide installations and breakdowns when required, ensuring company service standards are maintained.
  • Service, repair and assemble pumps and pumping systems.
  • Complete detailed site reports following each visit, obtaining customer signatures and submitting documentation promptly.
  • Maintain company procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Represent the business professionally, promoting products and services wherever possible.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is properly stocked, maintained, and equipped with required tools.
  • Observe and uphold all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to business needs.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider engineering team.
Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar mechanical, fitting, or maintenance role (essential).
  • Experience with pumps or related systems (desirable).
  • Based within a commutable distance of Orpington.
  • Understanding of the mechanical or pumping industry (desirable).
Qualifications / Training
  • Recognised mechanical qualification (essential).
  • Confined Space, First Aid, CSCS, and SSSTS training (desirable – can be provided if not already held).

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
