Job summary

ATA Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Workshop Engineer in Gloucestershire / South West with occasional stays away. The role focuses on repair, overhaul and refurbishment of hydraulic power units and components in the workshop.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering qualification (Level 3) and hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems, plus fabrication, fitting and machining. Occasional travel and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering qualification (Level 3) or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Mechanical stripping and rebuilding of equipment.
• Pipefitting, pipe bending and basic electrical awareness.
• Fabrication, fitting and machining experience.
• Proactive, independent worker with willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Repair, overhaul and refurbishment of hydraulic power units and hydraulic/pneumatic components in the workshop.
• Strip down of hydraulic power units and components such as cylinders, pumps and motors.
• Rebuild and assemble hydraulic power units for customers; pressure testing components.
• Fabrication, welding and machining as required.
• Follow engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
