Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Fitter in Grantham to assemble, fit and test heavy machinery for construction and related sectors. The role involves working with mechanical and hydraulic systems, reading drawings, and ensuring high quality workmanship on a permanent basis.

The position offers a Monday-Thursday schedule, on-site work in Grantham, with a competitive hourly rate and opportunities for training and development within a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter or Machinery Fitter.
• Experience with heavy machinery, construction, agricultural or similar equipment.
• Good mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble crushing and screening equipment.
• Install hydraulic systems, pipework, pumps, valves and cylinders.
• Fit engines, gearboxes and conveyors.
• Read engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
• Carry out testing and mechanical fault finding.
• Use hand and power tools.
• Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
• Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe.
