Job description

Aqua-Tech Recruitment are currently seeking 2 Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a water treatment site. The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment essential to water treatment processes.

This role requires a strong focus on health & safety and adherence to site regulations. The ideal candidates must hold CSCS, Confined Space, and Manual Handling certifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, valves, pipework, and other mechanical systems used in water treatment operations.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Working to tight deadlines to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance as well as reactive repairs.
• Conducting mechanical fault finding and problem resolution.
• Ensuring work is performed safely and in compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations.
• Working in confined spaces as required.
• Completing required documentation and reporting for works undertaken.
• Liaising with engineers, site supervisors, and other trades as needed.

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
• Valid CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
• Confined Space Training Certificate (Medium or High Risk, as applicable).
• Manual Handling Training Certificate.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, and pipework.
• Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Excellent health & safety awareness.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
