Mechanical Fitter

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Taunton

Salary: £34,000 - £36,000

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter with a strong background in industrial machinery maintenance. This role is ideal for mechanically qualified technicians who thrive in high‑pressure environments and are experienced in handling complex mechanical systems for various industrial machines used in industries such as FMCG, medical, automotive, and aerospace.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities
  • Responsible for the mechanical fitting, assembly, and installation on a variety of machines and components
  • Maintain mechanical pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for industrial production and processing systems.
  • Responsible for the Mechanical assembly and maintenance of industrial machines, involving a variety of machines.
  • Work as part of a small team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Read and understand complex mechanical schematics to ensure accurate installation and functionality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering).
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, particularly in an industrial setting.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to interpret and follow mechanical diagrams.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
