Job summary

A recognized manufacturing firm in Shropshire is seeking a Fitter to strengthen their engineering department. Responsibilities include assembling and fitting mechanical parts, installing automation components, and supporting full assembly cells' installations. The ideal candidate should have a relevant apprenticeship or NVQ and proven experience in a similar role.

Job description
Fitter - Double Days

A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Engineering department with the appointment of a Fitter.

Working from their manufacturing facility in Shropshire, the Fitter will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assemble and fit mechanical parts and machined components, following engineering drawings and CAD detail
  • Assemble and fit pneumatic and controls/sensor systems to assembly fixtures, robot grippers and automation based components
  • Install and integrate assembly fixtures, robot grippers and automation based components
  • Support installation of full assembly cells during commissioning phases and also at customer when required
  • Installation: Interpreting drawings and CAD data to support fitting of robots, guarding, fixtures, services cabinets and trunking. Including laying where applicable communications and pneumatic/electrical cabling
  • Support when required fitting activities including dis-assembly and re-assembly of pipework and steels
  • Participate in training sessions and development programs as and when required
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested.

The successful candidate should have a minimum of an Apprenticeship or NVQ/City & Guilds and proven experience in a similar role.
