Our client is looking for a mechanical fitter/engineer to join their team to help build and assemble complex scientific instruments in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility. This is a fantastic opportunity for a current fitter, engineer or apprentice that is looking to join a world‑leading instrument manufacturer in a competitive and impactful sector.

Responsibilities
  • Verify parts and assemble science instrumentation to drawing standards, combining components to construct complex sub‑assemblies.
  • Assemble intricate parts to fine tolerances and identify potential engineering improvements.
  • Monitor for non‑compliance and provide feedback on quality issues.
Qualifications
  • Engineering background (e.g. apprenticeship, ONC or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Excellent team and communication skills.
  • Preferable background in precision engineering from the automotive, aerospace, medical device or scientific instrument industry.
  • Experience in a cleanroom environment is an advantage.
