Duties of a Mechanical Fitter:
- - Assemble and fit specialist commercial vehicle bodies with precision and safety
- - Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders
- - Safely operate hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop machinery
- - Install insulated panels on refrigerated vehicle bodies
- - Complete electrical terminations including lighting, switches, and tail lifts
- - Seal joints, floors, and roofs using silicone and specialist coatings
- - Cut and prepare metal, timber, and plastic components using workshop tools
- - Maintain high standards of housekeeping in the workshop and at site locations
- - Follow all health and safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies
- - Support the wider production team with additional tasks as required
Requirements of a Mechanical Fitter:
- - Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or within a similar manufacturing or engineering environment
- - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- - Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and workshop machinery
- - Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- - Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- - Excellent organisational and time management skills
