Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering team on a long-term contract near Norwich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the decommissioning, repair and assembly of mechanical systems and assemblies in a large scale industrial environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently
  • Ensure all work is completed to high standards and complies with health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts used
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Own tools (desirable but not essential)
