Overview

Role: Mechanical Fitter
Start date: Immediate
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Hours: 40 hours per week (07:00-15:30)
Pay: £16ph+ (WEEKLY PAY) & pay rise after 3 months

We are looking for a skilled mechanical fitter / assembler who has a strong knowledge of hydraulic systems. The following role is for a well-established engineering firm who have been operating in Ipswich for nearly 40 years! This is a permanent role subject to a successful 3‑month probation period.

To be considered for this position you need to have a mechanical fitting background, ideally with a good understanding of hydraulic systems & be competent in mechanical assembly. You will be expected to work independently & must be able to read engineering (CAD) drawings.

You will be working on heavier plant equipment, primarily used within the construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Assembly of hydraulic equipment
  • Ensuring all equipment & parts are washed down & cleaned prior to fitting
  • Test the products after assembly to ensure the highest level of quality standards are met
  • Read & work from engineering drawings (CAD)
  • MUST be flexible & willing to assist and work in other departments as and when required

Ideally you will have a background in mechanical fitting or similar discipline. We may consider applicants who have worked in an assembly capacity & offer further training as mechanical engineers.
