Job summary

Dutypoint is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assemble packaged plant rooms and skid assemblies, read P&ID drawings, GA drawings, CAD drawings and 3D models, and install ferrous and non-ferrous pipework to a high standard.

Expect to operate pipe threading machinery, crimping tools and related workshop equipment safely, install pumps and mechanical systems, and perform air and hydraulic pressure testing when required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within Building Services, HVAC or a similar engineering environment.

Job description

• Assemble packaged plant rooms and skid assemblies to engineering drawings and project specifications.
• Read and interpret P&ID drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, CAD drawings and 3D models.
• Fabricate and install ferrous and non-ferrous pipework to a high standard.
• Operate pipe threading machinery, crimping tools and associated workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Install pumps, pipework and mechanical systems in line with industry best practice.
• Carry out air and hydraulic pressure testing where required.
• Work safely at height, following all Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
• Support the delivery of production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within Building Services, HVAC or a similar engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, P&ID drawings and 3D models.
• Experience working with ferrous and non-ferrous pipework.
• Competent in the use of pipe threading machinery, crimping tools, hand tools and power tools.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and installation methods.
• Experience installing pumps and associated mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of G3 installation requirements is desirable.
• Experience carrying out air and hydraulic pressure testing.
• Comfortable working at height when required.
• Flexible, hands-on approach with a commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
