Job description

Role: Mechanical Fitter

Shift: Monday-Thurs Days, Friday half-day

Salary: £45,000 (with O.T. 1.5 + 2.0)

They employ thousands of employees in around 50 sites all over the UK, reinvesting at least £1 million each year back into the business. Our client is looking for another motivated Mechanical Fitter to join their strong maintenance function!

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Confidently fault finding on mechanically on bearings, shafts, rollers, chain drives, pulleys etc.
  • Working on shredders, sheers, conveyors, mobile plant equipment etc.
  • Performing routine PPM checks, reactive maintenance, continuous improvement etc.
  • Calibrating equipment to ensure its accuracy

About You

The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have the following:

  • A recognised engineering qualification
  • Experience with, or a flexible mindset for, working with heavy machinery
  • An open attitude to working in any type of environment
  • An ability to work independently
