Job summary

Fluid Water Group in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to assemble packaged plant rooms and skid assemblies to engineering drawings and project specifications. You will read P&ID, GA, CAD drawings and 3D models and install pump systems and pipework to a high standard.

The role requires hands-on fabrication, operation of pipe threading machinery, crimping tools and workshop equipment, plus safe working at height.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within Building Services or HVAC.
• Ability to read CAD, P&ID, GA and 3D drawings.
• Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous pipework.
• Competent with pipe threading machinery, crimping tools and power tools.
• Experience installing pumps and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of G3 installation requirements is desirable.
• Experience carrying out air and hydraulic pressure testing.
• Willingness to work at height and follow safety procedures.
• Strong teamwork and commitment to quality.

• Read and interpret P&ID drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, CAD drawings and 3D models.
• Fabricate and install ferrous and non-ferrous pipework to a high standard.
• Operate pipe threading machinery, crimping tools and associated workshop equipment safely and effectively.
• Install pumps, pipework and mechanical systems in line with industry best practice.
• Carry out air and hydraulic pressure testing where required.
• Work safely at height, following all Health & Safety procedures and company standards.
• Support the delivery of production schedules while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time.

Knowledge and Skills

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter within Building Services, HVAC or a similar engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, P&ID drawings and 3D models.
• Experience working with ferrous and non-ferrous pipework.
• Competent in the use of pipe threading machinery, crimping tools, hand tools and power tools.
• Strong knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and installation methods.
