Mechanical Fitter

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer/Fitter to join a long-established and highly successful manufacturing business based in West Yorkshire. This role is key to supporting a busy production environment by repairing, refurbishing, and maintaining equipment used in forming processes. Working as part of the team, you'll ensure that all equipment and auxiliary parts are repaired, maintained, and ready for production runs in line with operational requirements. It's an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering skills within a stable, sustainable industry that's focused on innovation and long‑term growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs, refurbishment, and preparation of moulding equipment.
  • Ensure all mould and auxiliary components are production‑ready and meet quality standards.
  • Support the wider team with maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Work proactively to identify and resolve production or mechanical issues.
  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
About You
  • Fully apprentice‑trained or able to demonstrate strong mechanical engineering skills.
  • Confident problem‑solvers with excellent attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communicators, capable of working effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Well‑organised, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines under pressure.
