Job summary

Meritus are recruiting for an esteemed defence client at the forefront of sovereign manufacturing missions. The Mechanical Fitter must have an NVQ Level 3 and HNC or HND, with a skilled apprenticeship background evidenced on application.

Role is Inside IR35, 37 hours per week plus overtime, with a likely 12-month term that may become permanent. SC clearance eligibility is required to support sensitive defence programmes.

Responsibilities

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure.

• Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.

MECHANICAL FITTER - MUST HAVE SKILLED APPRENTICESHIP BACKGROUND (MUST EVIDENCE ON APPLICATION) - INSIDE IR35 - 29.02 PER HOUR (RISING TO 30.38 PER HOUR AFTER 12 WEEKS) - 12 MONTHS (VERY LIKELY TO GO PERMANENT) - SECTOR: DEFENCE

HOURS: 37 PER WEEK + OT OPPORTUNITIES + UPLIFT ON RATE

CLEARANCE: MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SC CLEARANCE

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing and test tasks within the mechanical department, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives.

• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
