A leading manufacturing firm located in Aylburton seeks a Mechanical Day Fitter to provide maintenance and support services. This role offers a salary of £46100pa and operates on a day rota pattern working a combination of 8 hours and 12 hours Monday to Friday and one weekend in 5 working 6 hours on both Saturday and Sunday. This is an annualised hours rota pattern working day shifts only. One week in 5 you will be available on call and may be called for breakdown support during the evening/night of this particular week.

Provide preventative maintenance / mechanical breakdown service and support to the relevant department functions of the mill, which will enable the department to operate at a level of availability and performance within agreed standards.
To ensure safety standards are maintained and safe working procedures are adhered to. Reporting any accidents and near misses, to improve the Occupational Safety of personnel.
Diagnosing and repairing equipment breakdowns. Identifying failure modes of plant equipment while making recommendations to prevent further failures. Returning equipment to operation safely and in a reasonable timescale.
Utilisation of SAP providing necessary feedback on maintenance tasks undertaken detailing corrective actions taken, additional work required & spares used.
Locating spare parts using the maintenance management system. Collecting and returning spares to stores.
To liaise with engineering day teams to identify and resolve long-term engineering issues.

The Mechanical Day Fitter is expected to provide preventative maintenance and mechanical service and support to the Mill, ensuring continuous improvement in the standards of mechanical engineering, health and safety and environmental performance, such that set business objectives are met.
The candidate must keep abreast of technical developments to ensure improvements to both engineering and operational performance. This is against a background of continual pressure to satisfy and improve production requirements all of which could lead to out of hours working.
