About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and public health services. This role is essential in ensuring tender submissions are commercially competitive and technically robust.

You will be based at their modern offices near Southampton within a small team of commercial estimators. The role will require you to visit new projects as and when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret mechanical design information to produce accurate cost assessments.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs and bills of quantities.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative materials or methodologies.
  • Participate in tender review meetings and support bid submissions.
  • Update cost databases and maintain estimating tools to ensure accurate future pricing.
About You

You are an experienced mechanical estimating professional with strong analytical skills and commercial awareness. You have a proven ability to produce accurate estimates, collaborate effectively with design and procurement teams, and support successful bid submissions.
