Job summary

Assystem in the United Kingdom is seeking Mechanical Engineers at Graduate to Principal levels to support the delivery, commissioning and operational readiness of critical nuclear mechanical systems near Bridgwater or Bristol. You will deliver mechanical, piping, HVAC and process solutions, and support testing, installation and commissioning activities.

This role emphasizes collaboration with project stakeholders, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and active participation in handover

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience delivering complex engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Background in piping, HVAC, rotating equipment or pressure systems advantageous.
  • Commissioning, testing, installation or construction experience valued.
  • Experience in regulated or safety-critical environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering solutions across mechanical, piping, HVAC and process systems.
  • Support commissioning, testing and validation of mechanical systems.
  • Contribute to construction, installation and equipment engineering activities.
  • Support system turnover, handover and operational readiness programmes.
  • Resolve technical issues, site queries and engineering challenges.
  • Coordinate contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
  • Review technical documentation, design changes and construction modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage interfaces across engineering, construction and commissioning teams.
  • Support major project milestones through to operational readiness.

Job Description

These opportunities are suited to candidates within commuting distance of Bridgwater or Bristol, depending on role requirements.

We are seeking Mechanical Engineers across Graduate, Engineer, Senior, Lead and Principal levels.

  • Experience working within regulated or safety-critical environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Commitment to quality, safety and engineering excellence
  • Nuclear, energy, defence or major infrastructure experience advantageous
