Job summary

Smiths Group in Slough is recruiting a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice to join the Gas Seals Application Engineering team. You will support senior engineers, work with international sales, and learn gas compression and seal design principles while gaining CAD, FEA, and engineering calculation experience.

The four-year programme includes rotation through the Innovation and Technology team, mentoring from engineering staff, and completion of a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineer Degree Apprenticeship

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English & Maths required.
• UCAS points 120-128 with three A-Levels including maths-based and a science/engineering subject.
• Engineering-related BTEC Level 3 with 120 credits or EAL Diploma considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the application engineering team and senior engineers.
• Rotate through Technology and Innovation team.
• Develop CAD, FEA, and engineering calculation skills.
