Elvet Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Project or Design) to join a leading Civil and M&E contractor in Yorkshire. You will contribute across full project lifecycles for water/wastewater schemes, from concept through commissioning and handover.

The role requires delivery experience in the Water sector, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and a background with contractors or consultancies. Salary up to £70,000 with benefits. Leeds based.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineer with water/wastewater project delivery or design experience.
• Experience with contractors or consultancies is essential.
• A qualification in Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multiple projects at different stages from concept to handover.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Prepare hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity systems.
• Lead ALM/HAZOP workshops and reviews.
• Review internal documentation and support project teams.
• Select equipment and lead supplier discussions.
• Produce equipment schedules and detailed design models/drawings.

Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Project or Design) on behalf of an established Civil and M&E main contractor to play a key role in delivering multi-million £ Yorkshire Water projects...

This £500m+ turnover main contractor are a well-known name with worldwide growth. They are a key delivery partner for Yorkshire Water and framework holders for a number of Water clients nationwide for past several AMP frameworks. Off the back of a very successful AMP7 (2020 to 2030) they have secured AMP8 (running to 2030) and have several hundred million £'s worth of work potentially coming to them.

This Mechanical Engineer will be involved with full project life cycles ranging from concept design, tender, detailed design, construction, commissioning and to final handover. The role will involve design and delivery of mechanical systems within the Water / Wastewater industry.

Projects: water treatment upgrades, storm tanks, combined sewer overflows etc.

Values: from £500k to £10m

Responsibilities

• Involved in variety of projects at differing stages
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines for each project
• Prepare hydraulic calculations for pumped and gravity systems
• Participate in ALM / HAZOP Workshops
• Review internal documentation
• Support project teams
• Select equipment and lead discussions with suppliers
• Produce equipment schedules
• Work with design team to prepare detailed design models / drawings

Requirements

• Must have Mechanical Engineering experience from project delivery or design (ideally an aspect of both) within Water / Wastewaster sectors
• Must have experience working for a contractor or consultancy
• Must have HNC / HND or degree qualification

Remuneration

Salary on offer up to £70,000 (dependant on experience). Plus: car / allowance, mileage expenses, 27 days annual leave, pension & more.
