RC Fornax are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our defence customer based in Greater London.

Role Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide expert support in the design, review, and assurance of structural components for maritime systems and supporting infrastructure. Your input will be critical in ensuring design artefacts are production-ready and meet stringent quality and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mechanical design schematics and diagrams at both component and system levels.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations on design changes to improve manufacturability, reliability, and performance.
  • Support design assurance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design issues and support production readiness.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and design reviews.

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering within defence, maritime, or aerospace sectors.
  • Strong understanding of structural component design and production lifecycle processes.
