Mechanical Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician required to join a leading engineering service provider. The successful Mechanical Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician will be workshop-based near Dudleyand will carry out mechanical fitting, servicing, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, motors, turbines, couplings, generators, and other critical rotating machinery. Full product training provided. The Mechanical Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician will ideally have a strong mechanical engineering background on industrial rotating equipment, ideally gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, motors, or similar rotating machinery.

Mechanical Engineer / Workshop Engineer / Service Technician role
  • Carry out inspection, service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial rotating equipment at the workshop near Dudley.
  • Ensure all repaired and rotating equipment is tested, compliant, and fit for purpose before release to the customer.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out corrective work on gearboxes, turbines, couplings, generators, and similar mechanical systems.
  • Complete all required technical documentation, inspection reports, and work records.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.

  • Proven experience as a workshop engineer, mechanical fitter, maintenance engineer, gearbox engineer, rotating equipment engineer, service engineer, or similar.
  • Strong background in servicing, maintaining, and fitting industrial equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, electric motors, motors, or similar rotating machinery.
  • Experience with 3-phase electrics and controls is advantageous.
  • An engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Able to commute daily to the workshop near Dudley.
