Here at Connect Appointments we have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Bathgate-based client.

As Mechanical Fitter, your day‑to‑day role will be carrying out equipment repairs and servicing on a range of equipment and machinery in accordance with the approved maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Change pumps and gearboxes
• Repair conveyors and elevators
• Clear chokes and troubleshoot
• Some welding may be needed – full training can be provided

Qualifications

• Mechanical qualification (such as NVQ) or proven experience
• Previous mechanical fitting working experience
• Experience and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment

What to Expect from the Role

• Temporary ongoing position
• Rotational shifts of: 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10pm to 6am
• Paid weekly at £18.47 per hour (£20.69 per hour with shift allowance)
• You may also need to cover holidays, working either 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6am. Training for successful applicants will be across day shift working hours.
