Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Sizewell B, Leiston, Suffolk

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

About the Role

Dalkia UK is looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) to join our dedicated team at Sizewell B, working under our long‑term partnership with EDF. This is a hands‑on, technically challenging role in a highly regulated, heavy industrial environment‑perfect for an engineer who thrives on responsibility and wants to contribute to one of the UK’s key energy generation sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of HVAC and mechanical systems, including heavy plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults arising from help‑desk requests and operational reports.
  • Support with maintenance of HVAC systems across the site, including office and welfare facilities.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical plant including pumps, air compressors, fans, motors, drives, pneumatic controls, and pressurisation systems.
  • Ensure all work is delivered to high standards of health, safety, and quality assurance, in line with nuclear site requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain industry certifications and site competency.
About You

You’ll be a hands‑on engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, ideally gained in an industrial, utilities, energy, or nuclear environment. You take pride in your technical ability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Time‑served Mechanical Engineer with a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification.
  • Proven experience working on mechanical systems in an industrial setting, preferably HVAC.
  • Comfortable working with both mechanical and basic electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and digital maintenance systems.
