Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Fire Suppression and Production Systems team in the UK. You will design, develop and deliver mechanical solutions for fire suppression, process equipment and packaged systems projects. Applicants with offshore oil & gas or process systems experience are welcomed.

You will lead design reviews, prepare technical documentation, and liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years' experience in a relevant engineering role.
• Experience with packaged equipment, pressure systems, or process systems.
• Experience in regulated industries.
• Familiarity with DNV, ASME, API, ISO standards.
• Ability to lead design reviews and secure approvals from major organisations.

Responsibilities

• Engineering design, calculations, technical documentation and stakeholder engagement.
• Take ownership of work packages and ensure compliance with customer requirements and standards.
• Develop mechanical designs for fire suppression and production systems.
• Prepare BOMs, P&IDs, datasheets, reports, and test procedures.
• Support FATs, testing, commissioning and fabrication activities.
