About the Role

We are seeking a professional and reliable Mechanical Shift Engineer to join the on-site maintenance team within a high-profile corporate building in central London. Based at a prestigious law firm, the role requires a well-presented engineer who can deliver both reactive and planned maintenance services while representing the company to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for maintaining all mechanical systems across the site, responding to faults efficiently, and ensuring the building's services operate smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across the site
  • Respond quickly to faults and equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption
  • Maintain plant room equipment including pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and valves
  • Perform temperature and pressure checks, system monitoring, and adjustments as needed
  • Support compliance activities including record keeping and statutory inspections
  • Work collaboratively with the wider M&E team and client representatives
  • Uphold high presentation and professionalism at all times in a corporate environment
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services
  • Strong experience in commercial building maintenance (corporate or critical sites)
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, valves, and air handling units
  • Proven ability to work independently and respond effectively to reactive tasks
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Presentable appearance, suited to a professional corporate environment
  • Basic DBS check required prior to start
