A leading engineering firm in Newcastle is seeking a Mechanical Technician to assemble a range of Mechanical and Hydraulic Equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly and hold an HNC or equivalent. This role involves working from parts lists and drawings, ensuring tasks are completed safely in a heavy engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
• Experience in a heavy engineering assembly environment safely.
• Understanding of large steel fabrications assembly.

Responsibilities

• Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS.
• Assemble large steel fabrications and hydraulic equipment.
• Correctly assemble work from a parts list and drawings.

Skills

Job description

Role: Mechanical Technician

Location: Newcastle

Hours: Monday-Friday (37.50 Hours per week)

Hourly rate: Circa £20 Per Hour

GPS are looking for experienced Mechanical technicians to work for a leading subsea engineering business in Newcastle. Successful candidates will be responsible for the assembly of a range of Mechanical/Hydraulic Equipment.

Key responsibilities:

• Work to allocated tasks in line with the Production MPS.
• Possess an understanding of the requirements for the correct assembly of large steel fabrications and associated ancillary equipment including hydraulic equipment i.e. cylinders and operating systems.
• Correctly assemble work from a parts list and drawings.

Skills/Experience Required:

Previous experience in a similar role is essential

HNC or equivalent experience.

Previous experience of operating in a heavy engineering assembly environment safely and effectively.
