What will you be doing as an Engineer:

Working as part of a team, you will be ensuring smooth and continued running of a large production site. You will ensure the smooth running and maintenance of all manufacturing assets, whilst delivering optimum plant reliability through preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. The role will focus on PPM to reduce the need to take a fire‑fighting approach to maintenance and repairs. Duties will include:

  • Carrying out maintenance activities in your area of responsibility, maximising wrench time while following safety protocols
  • Supporting continuous improvement using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle
  • Providing feedback to planners and leadership to help optimise schedules, frequency, and parts planning
  • Conducting pre‑ and post‑maintenance quality checks
  • Managing lubrication mapping and execution, and supporting the simplification and rationalisation of lubricants
  • Training the autonomous maintenance team on equipment knowledge, basic Clean‑Inspect‑Lubricate routine and fault diagnostics
  • Leading the root cause analysis sessions and offering technical expertise
  • Promoting and maintaining strong 5S standards across the plant

The role will involve working a continental shift pattern, 3 on, 2 off with a 42.9 hour week on average with 12.25‑hour shifts: This will rotate between days (05:45‑18:00) and nights (17:45‑6:00) and includes nights, weekends and bank holidays.

We would LOVE to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
  • Experience in a similar Engineering role with a strong mechanical bias with a large company background, ideally in manufacturing
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering apprenticeship with hands‑on experience is essential
  • Recognised mechanical academic qualification
  • Strong electro‑mechanical knowledge
  • Familiarity with CMMS and SCADA systems
  • Comfortable with LOTO processes
  • Solid understanding of equipment and technical standards
  • A sense of ownership for safety, quality, and performance
  • Problem‑solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Due to the location of the site, you will need your own transport
