Overview

Mechanical Engineers – Fife, Scotland - £47,000-£50,000 basic - 4 on / 4 off shifts

The Job: An excellent opportunity has arisen for experienced Mechanical Engineers to join a market-leading UK manufacturing business. With two well-established production sites located close together in Fife, this company offers a dynamic working environment, genuine career progression, and the chance to work on a wide variety of machinery and systems. You will be part of a large, supportive engineering team that plays a key role in keeping production running efficiently across both sites.

Responsibilities
  • Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a range of machinery
  • Rapid fault-finding to minimise downtime and support production
  • Planned preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting with spare parts management and external contractors
  • Monitoring equipment performance and liaising with operations teams
  • Working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days and nights)
Qualifications
  • Time-served Mechanical Engineer with minimum Level 3 qualification
  • 18th Edition desirable but not essential
  • CMMS experience highly advantageous
  • MHE experience/qualifications beneficial
  • Strong communication skills in English (spoken & written)
  • A team player with good decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Applicants from a range of mechanical backgrounds will be considered, including ex-Forces engineers, CNC machinists looking to progress, or candidates from manufacturing/FMCG environments
