Responsibilities in your new role as Mechanical Engineer

In this role, you will carry out routine maintenance on equipment to minimise downtime and respond quickly to breakdowns to keep production running efficiently. Working closely with the production team, you'll diagnose and resolve mechanical issues while ensuring all work meets strict health, safety and food hygiene standards.

You'll also maintain accurate maintenance records and play an active role in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance and reliability.

Your personality, experience, and qualifications

We are looking for someone with a Mechanical engineering qualification (HND or degree level) and proven experience in maintenance engineering, ideally within a food production or FMCG setting. You should possess strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, coupled with the ability to work effectively under pressure and respond quickly to machinery breakdowns.

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with preventive maintenance systems are essential for success in this role.
