Job summary

Expedite Recruitment Services (ERS) are partnering with a Building Services and Environmental Design consultancy in Oxford to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer. The role focuses on delivering complex designs for Oxford University, colleges and lab work, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and professional growth in Building Services.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects and provide technical support.
• Monitor budgets for clients to ensure work is delivered to budget and timescales.
• Liaise with clients and external designers.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and contract documents to required quality and standards.
• Provide building services design to buildings and infrastructure.
• Identify scope changes and maintain planning and cost control.

Basics of the role

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects, including providing technical support
• Monitor budgets for clients based on their specifications to ensure work is delivered to budget and timescales
• Liaise with clients and external designers
• Compile specifications, drawings and contract documents to the required technical quality, ensuring designs comply with the relevant codes, standards, regulations and procedures
• Provide building engineering services design to buildings and infrastructure
• Identify scope changes, under the change control process, and maintain planning and cost control

Who are we looking for

• First and foremost we are looking for someone who is a self starter and can work autonomously, as well as part of a team
• You’ll have 4+ years of working in Mechanical Building Services Design
• UK driving licence
• Ideally hold an industry recognised BEng or MEng degree
