Mechanical Engineer - Critical Environment

Location: Knutsford

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Salary: Competitive (temporary role with potential to go permanent)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a critical environment site in Knutsford. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in technically focused building services environments, ensuring key systems run smoothly and efficiently.

You'll be responsible for carrying out a mix of planned and reactive maintenance within plant rooms and across essential mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, and valves.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive tasks in a timely manner.
  • Work within plant rooms, maintaining pumps, motors, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults independently, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
  • Complete small installations and recommend necessary spares and materials.
  • Maintain accurate work records and communicate progress to the technical team.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and ensure compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
  • Recognised mechanical or plumbing qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ).
  • Previous experience in building services or a critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of pumps, motors, and mechanical plant systems.
  • Proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Additional trade or safety certifications are an advantage.
