Mechanical Engineer - Stafford (On-site)

6-month contract - £21 per hour - Inside IR35

Are you a practical, hands-on Mechanical Engineer who enjoys diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and working on a variety of mechanical systems? This role offers the chance to apply your technical skills in a busy, workshop-based environment supporting the maintenance and refurbishment of specialist ground equipment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing a wide range of mechanical systems and components
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and implementing effective repair solutions
  • Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine-based systems (diesel, petrol, or marine)
  • Conducting surveys and ensuring all work meets relevant engineering and safety standards
  • Using computer systems to record and report maintenance activity
  • Collaborating closely with a skilled team of engineers and technicians
What we're looking for:
  • Strong mechanical repair or maintenance background
  • Experience with engines, hydraulics, vehicles, or heavy machinery
  • Confident in fault finding, inspection, and refurbishment work
  • Computer literate with the ability to maintain accurate records
  • Engineering qualification (Level 3 or 4) or completed a recognised apprenticeship
  • Eligible to work in the UK and able to meet baseline security clearance requirements (BPSS)
